Making a sports claim
All incidents that give rise to a claim must be notified to us by phone or in writing within 30 days of their happening. Failure to meet this deadline may result in Insurers refusing to provide an indemnity.
A claim form will be sent out to the Club Secretary and this must be returned as soon as possible. If necessary the Insurer will appoint an assessor after receiving the claim form.
Any correspondence whatsoever from the Third Party or their Solicitors must be passed to us unanswered, upon receipt.
Note: All claims must be dealt with through the Club Secretary as we are unable to deal with individual players. You can greatly speed up your claim for medical expenses / loss of earnings by submitting all documents speedily - a claim can be settled within 1 week, upon receipt of all relevant details.
Claims for medical expenses and loss of earnings
Claims for medical expenses must be accompanied by all receipts. Physiotherapy costs must include a note from the doctor who issued them.
Loss of wages claims are settled up to the date the doctor certifies, on receipt of the following:
- Letter from the employer confirming what payments, if any, they are making.
- Pay slips for the 6 weeks prior to the accident.
- Social Welfare payment slips stating the benefit payable (if the player does not qualify for any benefit we will require a letter from the Social Welfare stating the reason why).
